1、 接受设计任务、基地实地踏勘,同时收集有关资料
  作为一个建设项目的业主(俗称"甲方")会邀请一家或几家设计单位进行方案设计
  作为设计方(俗称"乙方")在与业主初步接触时,要了解整个项目的概况,包括建设规模、投资规模、可持续发展等方面,特别要了解业主对这个项目的总体框架方向和基本实施内容。总体框架方向确定了这个项目是一个什么性质的绿地,基本实施内容确定了绿地的服务对象。这两点把握住了,规划总原则就可以正确制定了。
  另外,业主会选派熟悉基地情况的人员,陪同总体规划师至基地现场踏勘,收集规划设计前必须掌握的原始资料。
  这些资料包括①所处地区的气候条件,气温、光照、季风风向、水文、地质土壤(酸碱性、地下水位).②周围环境,主要道路,车流人流方向.③基地内环境,湖泊、河流、水渠分布状况,各处地形标高、走向等。
  总体规划师结合业主提供的基地现状图(又称"红线图"),对基地进行总体了解,对较大的影响因素做到心中有底,今后作总体构思时,针对不利因素加以克服和避让;有利因素充分地合理利用.此外,还要在总体和一些特殊的基地地块内进行摄影,将实地现状的情况带回去,以便加深对基地的感性认识。
